<\/a>I am reading \u201cHero Tales\u201d to the girls in school, and the past couple of days we have read about George Muller.<\/p>\nBasically a spoilt German kid, who drank and gambled and ended up in jail. Got saved in a prayer meeting and moved to England to set up an orphanage. While doing this he felt as though he shouldn\u2019t ask anyone for anything, and so he did it all by faith. He set up five orphanages in Bristol, and by the time he died he had housed, educated, and TRAINED over ten thousand boys and girls!!<\/p>\n
Today we read about an instance with a little girl \u201cAmy Carmichael\u201d, who was not an orphan, but a daughter of George\u2019s friend. George took her into the breakfast hall where the orphans were standing behind their chairs, the table set with the plates and cups. George, knowing there was no food in the place said to Amy, \u201cCome and see what our father in heaven will do for us today… So he prayed for the breakfast, and there was a knock at the door and there was the town baker who said that God woke him up at 2.00 am with a feeling that George had no food, so he got up and baked fresh bread for the kids\u2026 (note: he didn\u2019t send yesterday\u2019s hard, bad bread, he got up and baked fresh, best bread!)\u2026 so the kids had bread and sat down to eat and there was another knock at the door\u2026 it was the milkman, who\u2019s cart was broken and he had to unload it to fix it, and could the children use his cans of fresh milk???<\/p>\n
So I am thinking two things today\u2026one: Dear God diminish my doubt so my faith can overcome, I want to live my life like that. And two: it was men who God used to provide for the kids. Yes, God is able to let manna fall from heaven, but really he uses men (and ladies). I want to be the one who can show up on someone\u2019s door and be their answer. I want people to show up at my door and be my answer. I want to be listening to HIS voice and not let another opportunity pass where I have let someone down, or now someone else gets to be a blessing. Oh that we would all walk in FAITH and make a difference.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
