{"id":345,"date":"2010-04-04T18:23:33","date_gmt":"2010-04-04T17:23:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/warriorshepherd.com\/blog\/?p=345"},"modified":"2011-03-06T08:35:01","modified_gmt":"2011-03-06T07:35:01","slug":"hearn-family-spring-2010-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/warriorshepherd.com\/blog\/hearn-family-spring-2010-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Hearn Family Spring 2010 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Hello Friends!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just seems like time to write to you and give you an update.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/davidhearn.myadventures.org\/blogphotos\/myadventures\/davidhearn\/moustache_march.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"198\" align=\"left\" \/>So  we now have 20 interns from varying backgrounds, including married  couples from California and Holland.\u00a0\u00a0 We have two families who are  waiting to sell their houses in the U.S and move their families here for  6 months!\u00a0 It is growing and we are getting better with each semester.\u00a0  The interns have &#8216;class&#8217; from 9.30-12.30 and 2.00-4.30.\u00a0\u00a0 Evening meals  are cooked by a team of two at each of the houses, so it is an  experience for them to cook for a large group and keep within a budget,  but make it nutritional and good!\u00a0 Our family now eats one meal at each  house per week and on Fridays everyone goes to the villa for &#8220;tapas&#8217;,  and everyone brings something.<\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?op=1&amp;view=global&amp;subj=1343196065&amp;pid=1548815&amp;id=1301544478\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/davidhearn.myadventures.org\/blogphotos\/myadventures\/davidhearn\/study_time.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" align=\"right\" \/>It  is really wonderful to see the interns actually grasp truths, we hear  over and over again..&#8221; How come no-one ever told us&#8221;&#8230;..mostly on the  subject of covenant.\u00a0 But on other subjects too.\u00a0 We have just started a  grading system for which will determine if they graduate with a  certificate of completion or cert. of excellence.\u00a0 They are graded in  Servanthood, community, initiative, excellence, and ground-breaking.\u00a0  Did you serve someone other than yourself, did you serve the community,  did you do everything to the best of your ability, did you come up with  ideas to make something better, or change something, did you go and do  something out of your comfort zone, have you made plans to go and do and  not just sit and ponder.<\/div>\n<div>It&#8217;s good stuff.<\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/davidhearn.myadventures.org\/blogphotos\/myadventures\/davidhearn\/dave_bec.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"250\" align=\"left\" \/>We still have most lunches or evenings filled with visitors, but it is what we love. They bring joy and become family.<\/div>\n<p>I still teach English in the evenings, and the kids are really beginning to get it, it&#8217;s amazing.<\/p>\n<div>Dave is still doing all the &#8216;grunt &#8216;work, accounting, teaching classes,  organizing, and designing how the centre should run.\u00a0 He is constantly  trying to improve it and bring in new ideas.\u00a0 If anyone knows of an  accountant who works with non-profits, dave would love to have their  name!<\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/davidhearn.myadventures.org\/blogphotos\/myadventures\/davidhearn\/ben_web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"266\" align=\"right\" \/>Emma  just had one of the interns make a video of her singing a song from  &#8216;camp rock&#8217;, she is entering a disney competition to become the next new  disney singer! She won a poetry competition in her school this week!\u00a0  (In Spanish!!) and bought herself a keyboard with the money she makes  with her candy store!\u00a0 I swap keyboard lesson for English lessons, so  far she knows &#8220;oh when the saints go marchin&#8217; in&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div>Gabriella is loved by all.\u00a0 She loves horses and goes to\u00a0 the home of  one of the families in a local church, and gets to ride their horse!!!\u00a0  She is in heaven.<\/div>\n<div>She is really into fashion and never ever likes the clothes I choose,  and likes her hair just &#8220;so&#8221;.\u00a0 She is still my helper and is  trustworthy.<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/davidhearn.myadventures.org\/blogphotos\/myadventures\/davidhearn\/em_gabs_web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" align=\"left\" \/>Ben  talks!!!!!!!\u00a0 &#8220;me go, no&#8221;\u00a0 or &#8220;me, chocolate, yes&#8221;,\u00a0 &#8220;blah-blah&#8221; (  Gabriella) oooh so lovely, he will give you kisses out of the blue .\u00a0 He  is known for being &#8220;such a good boy&#8221; truly a joy.<\/p>\n<p>Life is full, but mostly fulfilling.\u00a0 We are working hard, but seeing  great results.\u00a0 Things are already happening, but we can see in the  years to come, as the pool of grads grow and the businesses and  ministries multiply, how &#8220;suddenly&#8221; there is big change.\u00a0 We are a part  of something wonderful, that is producing life.\u00a0 It is an honour.<\/p>\n<div>As always, THANK YOU for your support, we are so so so very grateful and  amazed.\u00a0\u00a0 Feel free to &#8216;pop-in&#8217;.
