I apologize to all of you who are religiously checking this site (all 2 of you)–I haven’t been very good with the updates recently. Since I got off early today (after only 14 1/2 hours!) I can talk a little. In true military style, your update is going to be in bullet format:
– The family: doing well. Em’s doing half day kindergarten, half day homeschool and loving both. Gabriella is doing half day homeschool and getting into it. Ben is growing strong as the man of the house.
– The war: doing surprisingly well. I think the news is reaching the U.S. new outlets, but we seem to have Al Qaeda on the run. Iraqis are starting to take some responsibility, life is getting back to some semblance of normal in many places, and the terrorists have fewer and fewer places to hide.
– The book, part 1. I just finished Tom Davis’ book, The Red Letters: Living a Faith that Bleeds. If you want to know how you can have a real effect on the world, live out your life by following Jesus’ words. Tom offers practical ways to have an impact today.
– The book, part 2. I started reading The Starfish and the Spider. This book explains how today’s thriving and growing organizations are networks that are flexible and decentralized, not hierarchies with rigid organizational structures. Will write more about it later, but for now, check out my network of radical Christ-followers at www.g42global.org.
– Just in case I’m not on before Christmas, Merry Christmas to all of my family- Jason and his family, Mom and Dad, all of the myriad Uncles and Aunts– we miss you and hope to be able to see all of you soon!
